On Tuesday, Los Angeles city workers went on strike for 24 hours, with the Service Employees International Union Local 721 citing “ unfair labor practices” as the city allegedly failed to bargain with them in good faith, although city officials say otherwise. Taylor Swift recently wrapped two Los Angeles performances-despite state officials’ cries for her to postpone that leg of the tour amid hotel strikes-and the city is preparing to host 2026 FIFA World Cup and the 2028 Olympic Games.
